April Beauty Favourites

Friday, 2 May 2014

April favourites were really hard to choose as there were a lot of new products I was trialling and enjoying, but these are the beauty bits I found myself reaching for on a daily basis!

Vaseline Spray & Go body moisturiser in Aloe Fresh, £4.99 These have been hugely hyped up in the beauty blogging community and I can totally see why. Apart from the occasional dabble with the Soap and Glory butter I very rarely moisturise my body, as I just find it a bit of a pain plus in the winter months there isn't much skin on show anyway! But now that we're approaching summer I'm so glad I found this. It sprays a really fine mist of moisturiser over the skin and is literally done in seconds, as it says on the tin. I was a bit surprised by the price and you are essentially paying for the gimmick of it being a spray but it is definitely worth it. I'm also obsessed with the fresh aloe smell and keep spraying it on my arms!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation, £9.99 I hadn't really done my research on this and ended up buying it on a whim when I needed a cheaper foundation to replace my beloved Lancome 24 hour (sob). Aside from it being slightly too pale for me (I didn't know this was possible!) it is an amazing foundation for the price. It gives a really nice velvety finish and is super easy to blend in. I've since read that this is a complete dupe of the Giorgio Armani foundation so I'm pleased I decided to give it a go!

Models Own Scented Nail Polish in Apple Pie, £5 I had initially wanted to find this in the Grape Juice shade but it was out of stock in Boots, so I picked this mint shade up instead as I chucked my colour similar to this away last month after it got too gloopy. The whole 'scented' thing isn't really true, the scratch and sniff sticker on the top of the bottle smells amazing (like sweets) but the polish itself on the nails isn't really scented at all. It's a nice idea but kind of pointless! Anyway, it's the shade I love, it's the perfect mint for spring/summer and I'm sure I'll be wearing this a lot in the months to come.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, £5.49 This is fast becoming my holy grail concealer. I'd been meaning to pick one up again for months and finally got round to it a couple of weeks ago. It's the perfect shade, blends easily but has great coverage, doesn't dry out my skin and works well with any foundation. Full marks from me!

Tigi S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer, £15.25 Long-time readers of Zoella's beauty blog will remember her post on the S Factor range many many moons ago. I've pretty much wanted it since and when I finally ordered one it did not disappoint! I smooth a pea size amount of this through the ends of my hair and it gives a really healthy shine. This alongside the Aussie heat protect spray = perfect haircare duo. Plus it smells of strawberries- not a must but a definite bonus!

La Roche-Posay Serozinc, price ranges I bought this on eBay a couple of months ago for about £12, I think at the moment that's the only way to get your hands on this in the UK! It's a zinc sulphate solution you can use as a toner by either spraying it or soaking it on a cotton pad. It's incredibly soothing and really helps to reduce any blemishes by speeding up the healing process. It's probably the first toner I've used that's made a noticeable difference to my skin!
